Course Description

 

Introduction to Keyboarding (Semester 1)
    The student applies the proper keyboarding technique to input data when using the computer keyboard.  The student is expected to:  demonstrate the correct touch-system techniques for operating alphabetic keys, numeric keys and the use of the command and function keys.

Technology Applications (Computer Literacy) (Semester 2)
   
The student demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of hardware components, software programs and their connections.  The students will learn:  MSWord,  Internet Basics,  MS PowerPoint and MS Excel and other multimedia programs.

GRADING SYSTEM
All grades recorded for the six weeks shall be numerical grades.  A grade of 70 or above shall be considered passing.  Six weeks grades will be calculated as follows:
 Daily/Homework.....................................................40%
 Chapter Test/Weekly Quizzes.............................40%
 Six Weeks Test........................................................20%

Note 1:  A minimum of six daily grades, three chapter/weekly test and one six weeks test are required.

Note 2:  At the teacher's discretion, the lowest grades may be dropped should more than six grades be recorded by the teacher for daily grades or more than three test grades.

Note 3:  The teacher has the option of substituting a weekly or test grade with a report/project.
